ÇA Va De Soi Show At Montreal Fashion Week
French women may have the secret to not getting fat; they also possess impossibly chic style, and this look was the inspiration for the hair and makeup at the Ça Va de Soi show at Montreal Fashion Week. It's a look you can pull off every day, to look pulled together in an understated but sophisticated way. You can pull the hair and makeup together quickly, too, so it's perfect on the days you have little time to get out the door — or even have no time to wash your hair.
"The look is very feminine and natural, like a Parisian woman," says Amelie Ducharme, Cover Girl Makeup Pro. Eyes were simply done, softly lining them with Cover Girl Line Exact Liquid Liner in black along the top lashes, starting at the inner corner where the lashes start rather than the true inner corner of the eye. The idea is to make the lashes appear fuller, says Ducharme. Then she played up the lashes with several coats of Cover Girl 24 Hours Lash Blast Mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.
Skin was done, but naturally, using Cover Girl Tone Rehab Foundation. Then, the cheeks were given a healthy flush, using Cover Girl Blush in Brick Rose 180 (a tawny soft pink) on the apples of the cheeks. Lastly, lips were subtly played up with Cover Girl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Clay 260 (a slightly brown rose colour).
Hair was similarly simple, but prettily done in a classic ballerina chignon. Denis Binet, Pantene Consulting Stylist, says this look is easy to do. Apply Pantene Classic Gel to the roots and then pull your hair into a high ponytail. With some gel in the palms of your hands, twist along the length of the ponytail while working the gel on your hands onto the length of your hair. Then, wrap the hair tightly around the base of the ponytail and pin into place. "The gel at the roots and as you twist your hair will help control flyaways," says Binet.
