Kristen Feistily Defends Her Red Carpet Poses
Ever wonder why Kristen Stewart doesn't like to smile in most of her photos?
Plain and simple: She just doesn't care what you think of her. That's why.
The Snow White and the Huntsman star, who more notably won us over with her lead lady role as Bella in the Twilight saga, is the July celebrity cover girl for Vanity Fair, and she is finally speaking out — very boldy, I might add — about why she dislikes taking photos, and in her candid interview, she says that the way the media portrays her often-captured miserable, glum faces is what upsets her.
"I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph. I get some serious s*** about it. I'm not embarrassed about it. I'm proud of it," says Kristen in the interview with Vanity Fair. "If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me or on the carpet would think, 'What an actress! What a faker!'"
She does have a point, especially since the 19-year-old skyrocketed to major stardom so fast because of her role in the vampire romance trilogy that she didn't really have a lot of time to adjust to all the paparazzi and cameras that want to snap a photo of her.
Kristen acknowledges that she had a lot of awkward photographic moments, where she looked like having to have her photo taken on the red carpet or at an event was the worst thing she could ever endure, portraying her as an emotionless person who hated fame, but she says that's not the way she really feels.
"That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like s*** in half my photos, and I don't give a f***," says Kristen. "What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, 'She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.'"
Wow! What bold language for Kristen to use in such a sophisticated and classy magazine. But hey, it's good the Hollywood beauty is finally telling it as it is, since she doesn't always have a mug face all the time — sometimes she actually does smile! And for those who try to show Kristen in a bad light — literally — because of her red carpet or event photos, well, she has a few extra words for you to part with.
"I don't care about the voracious, starving s*** eaters who want to turn truth into s***."
